This weeks theme: Unique/funny signs

For those of you not familiar with this sign - it is a landmark in Boston. I took it from my car while driving - well while stopped at a light.

Those blasted gas companies! Nice clear shot for a car taken photo.

Great shot! Just a question. Is this landmark anywhere close to Logan airport?

I had to skip this week's PH because my little camera won't cooperate for some reason.

panaderos- not near logan - actually Kenmore Square - close to Fenway(home of the Redsox). Have you've been to boston on business?

Really? A landmark? That is a great shot. Though I refuse to shop at Citco because they are owned by the commie Chavez government. :)

Is there a difference between Citgo and Citco? Does it matter? How big is that sign? Landmarks to me mean things like national museums and railway stations...how big?

liquid- i hope to sit next to you - minus the cigarette.
lorna - it's pretty big - landmark as it's been there awhile and is a landmark for Boston people.

I was up North in Newburyport a couple of months ago. I was there for a week. Very nice historic town. But instead of Logan, I flew into Manchester airport upon the advice of our company's contact there.

I do want to see the city of Boston itself. A lot of friends have said great things about it. :)

The original sign, was the Cities Service sign which was a green ...shamrock, I think. Anyway, Citgo bought them out in the eighties and it was changed to this sign. Not too long ago there was a movement to save this sign from extinction, and it worked. This image is irrevocabley Boston and mostly viewed during Red Sox games as it sits above the perimeter of Fenway Park.
