Homework assignment

in

I don't know why but this morning standing on the side porch waiting for the wave from my 13 yr. old son that means the other kid is at the bus stop so that I don't have to fear for his abduction (when exactly will i stop fearing that?). anyway he was telling me about the last book that he just finished in a series that he devoured( no pun intended - it was about vampires - Cirque du Freak). I told him he would have to tell me about it at the beach this summer since this is his next to last day of school. And for some reason some books came flooding in my head. One of them was The Magus by John Fowles that I read ions ago. I remember that I really liked it but never really "got" it. anyone out there that read it, got it or not, and would like to right a bookreport. I'm an eary marker.

PS: i do realize that this should be edited but that would make me even later for work.
Ciao

He's by far not the only kid that devours that series.

PS - Editing is for wusses. And people with nothing better to do

Actually I did do a book report on The Magus. It was a TOUGHIE alright!

Remind me if I don't but I'll put it
either on my blog or on my book review site or here. I am way too tired to do it tonight. (I can't believe somebody actually asked because I spent ALOT of time on it)

kids often like only fiction, but sometimes it is because they really have no experience with non-fiction. pick up a couple of biographies of popular sports figures at the library. i read a few of those in my youth and loved them! they actually played a large role in directing me to non-fiction as a young adult.

It is great to have a wonderful fiction to spend the day with.. it will give wings to their imagination.. our whole life is tiring and book should be an escape to a fantasy world where we can get lost in.
