Stalled

in

First it was the heat- too hot to post, then it was Dakota's death, then it was vacation - being on the road. Now it's damn work and my husband's broken shoulder(another post) and football practice 4 times a week. Ok I'll stop whining now.
But the muse is still on vacation and the critic has taken up residence it seems. Maybe I should just work on all those saved drafts - but then they always seem so stale-old news, forced. I told you the critic was reigning his ugly head again.

Yes,I'd much rather be becalmed: 1)To render motionless for lack of wind. 2)To make calm or still; soothe.

You don't have to explain or justify.
Sorry about the broken shoulder and the Coda thing :(

Damn the critic. I'm just glad to see you here. Hang in there, the doldrums will eventually shift.

It seems like I've gone through dry spells a lot recently too. Just relax. Your muse will be back. Sorry about all the bad luck with the cat, hubby, etc.

I have been dry for some time...too long to specify. My baby boy—who’s no baby, who recently moved away to go to university, phoned me the other day, asked me what I was doing, and when I told him I was working at restoring an old photograph in Photoshop he said, “Why aren’t you writing that novel? You’re supposed to be working on that idea we talked about.” Mouths of Babes. I’ve not had the focus and the critic has been louder than any positive support system. And then a very important mentor died in May so letter writing even stopped. But then I found this blogspot and all of you fellow writers…how amazing to have a world of writers at finger’s tips. I’m trying to allow the critic to pass through me as I make my little blogs…with the knowing that they turn into something bigger. Keep blogging no matter how small you think it might be. Your audience awaits.

All Best
